One HUGE Thank You
As I sit on my porch in sweet Cumming, Georgia, with the creek trickling in the background and trees filled with sunshine, I'm reflecting on this summer. What a whirlwind. What a crazy adventure. What a deeply grateful heart. So here goes my thank you note.... Jess, thank you for being so much more than a coworker. Thanks for being a sister, counselor, friend, mentor and secret keeper. Sharing a room with you for majority of the past three months was a joy. I’ll miss waking u

What has the Tour Meant to Us?
Beach towns tend to have a free spirit about them. Here in Santa Cruz we have met some incredible people who are courageous and willing to go the extra mile. From the woman who sold everything she had to live in a barn and start an international nonprofit to the man who walked across the country in support of a cause he believed in, these people are fearless and free in pursing their dreams. It’s wild to think that this is our last tour stop. I honestly can’t believe it. It h
Waiting for My Time to Come
While in Denver, we had a special group show up to film with us. Colony House is a band from Nashville traveling right now with NEEDTOBREATH and the TOUR DE COMPADRES. They played at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Wednesday night and then played in our Airstream the next day. Cheers to sheer talent, live music and dinner out with the band to celebrate! This is not just an awesome band with a great song, when you hear the story behind the song, you'll understand the powerful me
An Unlikely Friendship
After one of Donna's good friends passed away, she was inspired to honor their friendship by reaching out to someone who she disagrees with and getting to know them. That person was Bob. While I was in Des Moines, Iowa I met two pretty spectacular people with a special friendship. I didn't even write a blog post because I wanted this video to speak for itself. So without further ado, meet Donna and Bob.

The Last Drive
Well, here we are…cruising down the highway from Napa Valley to Santa Cruz. This is my last time in Gary’s Chevy Silverado 2500 HD crew cab long bed. (Yes he taught us exactly what this truck is called!) This is my last time sitting shotgun, feet on the dash, chatting through who will win the presidential election, which city has the worst traffic and what we should do if the apocalypse happens. These are the little moments I’ll miss. So what does it feel like? Honestly…it fe

Be a Dreamer
I remember being a freshman in college and writing a bucket list. It was filled with all of the wild, fabulous, ridiculous things 19-year-old Marina wanted to do. From traveling to Antarctica to teaching my kids how to salsa dance, my imagination was splattered onto the page. Wine tasting in Napa Valley happened to be on that list and last night, I checked it off! We arrived to the Porter Family Vineyard and entered the front where delicious wine in beautiful glasses was wait

My Nerdy Hippie Life and Some Lightning Cupcakes
Powell's City of Books Portland turned me into a nerdy hippie. Well, I’ve always been pretty nerdy, but walking into Powell’s City of Books, the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world, my heart was stirred and curious. This place occupies an entire city block and all I could think about was the incredible knowledge and perspective held within these walls. I spent way too much time and money there, but I know every bit of it was worth it. Then I wandered to th

Motherhood
Pike Place Market is a place filled with fresh cut flowers, overly juicy fruits, tasty chocolate truffles, local paintings, seafood caught this morning, free wine tasting and crowds and crowds of people roaming through the streets. This place is magically chaotic. The energy is as vibrant as the fruits and flowers and I loved every minute of it. I then treated myself to seafood chowder and a glass of wine at a nice restaurant right on the water. Once again, Marina Party of 1,
