Gleaming through the Sky
Outer space has been a theme on this tour. For some reason, we all seem to have this fascination with the unknown world beyond our own eyes. From telling stories about visiting Space Camp when I was younger, to listening to a TED talk from Jess’s astronaut friend, to sitting in awe at an IMAX movie titled MARS….one thing is for sure, we LOVE space. All that being said, camping in Montana and falling asleep under the stars was simply dreamy. I spent entire nights gazing into t

Denver, I Love You.
Its not often that you find yourself with a week to explore Denver. We spent 6 nights and 7 days in the heart of Colorado with one simple mission: To see the best the city had to offer. Every day seemed like a highlight yet every day got better and better. We started the weekend hiking to Ouzel Falls in Rocky Mountain National Park and cooking out with friends in Washington Park. We had an evening on the town including staying up far too late and tearing up the dance floor to

Sioux Falls, You Impress
Addictions are real. They come in all shapes, sizes and forms. They are in the lives of young and old, the rich and the poor, both men and women. Those who overcome them are champions. Today as I sat outside under the tent ready to greet anyone who approached, a crew of biker dudes pulled up. I was slightly caught off guard by their rugged looks, leather vests and cut up gloves but intrigued knowing that at least one of them was bound to have a cool story. They approached cur

Celebrate Milbank, SD!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have just won the official award for number one radio station in Milbank, South Dakota!!! – keep in mind, there is only ONE radio station in town. …This is how my morning started. Busting into a radio station during a live segment, wearing a sombrero and tossing confetti in the air. Why you may ask? Simple. We heard about some pretty neat changes happening in town. Milbank, South Dakota used to be a town very few were proud of but in the past year the l

A Special Birthday
…And then he discovered he had a birthday. At age 6, a little boy had been living in a shelter with his mom and had never had his birthday celebrated. His family simply couldn’t afford anything, so they never celebrated. Naturally, he assumed that some people have birthdays and others don’t. He just happened to be one of the people that didn’t have a birthday. But then something magical happened. A sweet woman from Cheerful Givers, an organization that provides birthday gifts

Cheese Stuffed Burgers...enough said.
I decided to change it up a little and instead of a regular post, I decided to write a list of the top 5 reasons I love St. Paul. So, here it goes! $10 All You Can Bowl Nights on Tuesdays The Nook was recommended to us on multiple occasions, so on our last night in St. Paul, we decided to stop in. Of course we HAD to order their famous Juicy Nookie: a yummy burger stuffed with cheese. Seriously, brilliant. Then we discovered all night bowling...plenty of competition and tons

Sweet 4th of July!
Sweet 4th of July! Our adventure began at a Walmart…buying chips, salsa, hotdogs and all things needed for s’mores. In the process of our shopping we stumbled upon tacky America t-shirts. Obviously we bought matching ones for our whole crew, because why not?! We drove about 10 miles down a dirt/gravel road into the middle of Black River State Park in no where Wisconsin. We had no cell service and the beautiful thing was, it didn’t matter. We ate way too many smores and giggle

Cheese Curds and Bike Rides
A short walk around town and some delicious deep fried cheese curds was all I needed to be hooked on Madison. I’ve never been to Wisconsin, but for those of you who know me well, you’ll know that cheese is my weakness. It’s fabulously delicious, comes in a million varieties and can be eaten with just about anything....I could go on and on, but I'll stop right there. Anyway, Madison was wonderful! The bike ride to downtown Madison as the path curves around the beautiful lake w

Toss in the Other One and Laugh
A perfect day spent right on the edge of Lake Michigan in Chicago..overlooking the beautiful water and sailing boats with my journal on my lap. And suddenly… “PLOP!” One sandal fell off and sunk straight to the bottom of the water. I literally started giggling out of sheer shock at what had happened. Strangers around me started panicking. “Oh you poor girl!” “I wish I could help you!” “Are you ok!?” In an attempt to NOT cause a scene, because I honestly didn’t really care abo

What Do You Wish You Knew?
Between our stops in Louisville and Madison, we chose to spend the weekend in Chicago. There is nothing like a big city on the waterfront. You get the hustle and bustle of the city with the peace and calm of the beautiful lake. People of all walks of life are attracted to this special city and for that reason we decided to pull out the camera and film! We made it to the famous BEAN and began approaching strangers. “What do you wish you knew when you were younger?” “Take time
